Legal arrangements concerning juvenile offenders, which have been debated publicly for some time, appear to have been left out of the latest announced judicial package. Contrary to expectations, a comprehensive reform of the juvenile justice system has not been placed on the agenda at this stage.

As is well known, regulations concerning juvenile offenders are of great importance in terms of protecting children, reintegrating them into society, and subjecting judicial proceedings to special procedures. For this reason, a new reform on the subject has long been discussed in legal circles.

However, the absence of any change in this area in the current judicial package suggests that these regulations may be addressed under a separate study in the coming periods.

Developments on the subject are being closely followed, and the public will be informed when a new regulation comes onto the agenda.
