According to recent public announcements, a significant change is being planned regarding title deed procedures in Turkey. Under the 12th Judicial Package being prepared by the Ministry of Justice, mandatory legal representation by an attorney is envisaged for real estate purchase and sale transactions above a certain value.
According to the announcements, for property sales of 30 million TL and above, both the buyer and the seller will be required to be represented by separate attorneys.
Currently, title deed transactions can be completed without an attorney, and the regulation has not yet entered into force. However, if the relevant amendment is enacted, it is aimed at increasing legal oversight in high-value real estate transactions and preventing potential disputes.
Once the regulation comes into force, it is expected that the rights of the parties will be more effectively protected and transaction security will be increased.
As developments are shared with the public, further information on the details will continue to be provided.
